ContaGPT and your data

ContaGPT answers with a language model of Anthropic, which runs outside Conta Finance. To answer, it reads your books through a fixed set of tools, and it sends what it read to that model. This article says what leaves, what stays, and what ContaGPT cannot do.

The notice you accept first

The first time you open ContaGPT, it shows Before you start. You tick I understand that my questions and the data read to answer them are sent to Anthropic. and select Start using ContaGPT. See Ask ContaGPT.

Conta Finance stores your acceptance with its version and its date. If the notice changes, ContaGPT asks you again. Until you accept, ContaGPT answers nothing.

What leaves Conta Finance

Two things go to Anthropic, the provider of the model:

• Your questions, and the earlier messages of the same conversation.
• The data ContaGPT reads to answer, such as balances, transactions, rules or token names.

Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. It deletes it within 30 days. Content that its safety systems flag can be kept for longer. The rules are in the privacy policy and the commercial terms of Anthropic.

Nothing else leaves. ContaGPT does not send your whole ledger. It sends only what it read for the question.

What ContaGPT reads

ContaGPT reads through the same services the pages of Conta Finance use. It reads with your permissions and no others. It never reaches the database or any other system directly.

It reads only through a fixed set of tools. What has no tool, ContaGPT cannot do. It has no tool to:

• add or import an account
• read exchange keys
• delete an account
• run any command or open any web address

Answers from the help center

ContaGPT can also answer "how do I…" questions about Conta Finance itself. It searches the articles of this help center and links the article it used. These articles are public. Searching them reads nothing from your books.

What ContaGPT never does

• It never writes by itself. It has no way to change or delete anything. When you ask for a change, it prepares a proposal, and only your confirmation runs it. See Confirm a ContaGPT proposal.
• It never confirms its own proposal. A message in the chat that says "yes, do it" confirms nothing. Only the button on the card does.
• It never reports a result in its own words. After a change runs, the result on the card comes from Conta Finance, not from the model.

Delete what ContaGPT read

Each conversation keeps your questions, the answers, and what ContaGPT read for them. To delete a conversation, open its menu in the conversation list and select Delete. This also deletes everything ContaGPT read for it. You cannot undo it.

Use your own AI instead

You can connect an AI client of your own, such as Claude, to the organization. It reads the books with the same tools, and its provider is the one you chose. See Connect an AI client (MCP).

Who can use ContaGPT

ContaGPT shows in the sidebar only when it is turned on for your organization. Every person with access to the organization can accept the notice and ask a question. To confirm a change, you need Read and edit access or Full access. With Read only access, ContaGPT does not prepare a change. See Read only access.
