What is Conta Finance

Conta Finance turns the activity of your wallets and exchange accounts into books an accountant can sign off.

Conta Finance reads every movement of the wallets and exchange accounts your organization controls. It classifies each movement, gives it a value, calculates what each asset cost you and what it earned, checks the balances against the blockchains, and sends the result to your accounting system.

From wallet to ledger

The work follows the same order every period. Each step uses the result of the step before it.

  1. Add your accounts. Paste a wallet address or connect an exchange with a read-only key. Conta Finance reads the full history in the background.
  2. Classify the movements. Rules give each movementOne asset going into or out of one of your accounts. A transaction has one movement per account and asset. a categoryThe accounting label of a movement, such as Purchase or Fee. Cost basis reads it., such as Purchase or Fee. You categorize the rest by hand.
  3. Give every movement a value. Prices come in with each movement. A token with no price shows in the Unpriced view, where you add one.
  4. Read the gains and losses. The Gains & losses page matches each sale to the purchases it consumes, and shows the realized and unrealized gains.
  5. Reconcile. The Reconciliation page compares the balance in your books with the balance on the blockchain, every day.
  6. Close the period and sync. Lock the days you signed off, then send the journal entriesThe record of a transaction in the accounting system: a debit and a credit for each movement. to QuickBooks or Holded.
